This Nail Test Kit has been in storage since1999. The glass tubes have never been opened since the original set up more than 20 years ago.
One vial has water inside, and what’s left of a very rusty nail. It had no VCI protection. You can see the grains of iron oxide settled on the bottom, like a sediment. The entire nail is corroded, both above and below the water line.
The other vial has water, a nail, and a small strip of Nox-Rust Vapor Wrapper paper. The nail is still clean, above and below the water. No corrosion. The distinctive ink is still visible on the VCI paper.
Daubert Cromwell VCI paper is a proven, effective method to protect metal even in presence of water.
